Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97 is included with this CD-ROM for you to use if you have an older version of PowerPoint than 97, or if you don't have PowerPoint installed on your computer. If you have PowerPoint 97 or PowerPoint 2000 or newer installed on your computer, you should use them to view the slideshows. You can run the PowerPoint 97 Viewer directly from the CD-ROM, or you can install the Viewer on a local drive. If you choose to install the Viewer, you will need 7 MB of hard-disk space free (9 MB for the installation process). To run the Viewer from the CD-ROM: 1. Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the CD-ROM. 2. In the PowerPoint viewer folder double-click on the Ppview32.exe filename. To install and run the Viewer from a local drive: 1. Close all programs except Windows Explorer. 2. Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the CD-ROM. 3. In the PowerPoint viewer folder open the setup folder. 4. Double-click on Setup.exe; this action will run the setup program. You will be prompted for the location in which to install the Viewer; the default location is C:\ProgramFiles\ PowerPoint Viewer. 5. To run the Viewer from your local drive, choose Start, Program Files, Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Viewer. To display the PowerPoint 97 slides: In the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer window, choose the drive location of the CD-ROM. Open the course and Overhead folders. You can run the slides for a particular lesson by selecting the xxxOV#.PPT file (where xxx is the course number and # is the lesson number) and clicking Show. You can display the slides for the entire course in the order referred to in the Instructor's Edition by choosing Playlists in the Files of type drop down list, selecting OVPLAY.LST and clicking Show.
